Wiki wiki weekend!

This past weekend we spent some time with our families...I took a little road trip to Yakima with my hot mama for my cousins State Dance Competition and Chris went up to Marysville to visit the Hayes' and take a little trip to court for a ticket he got. We both had a great time but still... its sad to be apart from my boys.

So we drove my moms cute new mini cooper down to Yakima having some good mother/daughter time. We stayed at a hotel with the whole Mountain View dance team plus my Aunt Kailyn and Grandma Smith. It was fun visiting with relatives that I don't get to see often. The morning of the competition we got to help do hair and makeup and then spent about 8 hours at the SunDome watching all the dancers and change the hair after a dance. It was great stuff! The girls were awesome and we were so proud of Brookie and Taira!

Brookie and Kailyn at the competition:

Chris spent some time with his family watching March Madness, shopping with his Mom, playing Xbox and forgeting to go to court {slipped his mind.whoops..} His Mom sent home an AWESOME Easter package back for the two of us! I love when that happens! It was filled with the BEST stuff- so many candles, and plug in scents, all kinds of chocolate, easter decorations, another season of HIMYM {yay! marathon!}, socks, a new wallet for husb, and just so many fun cute fillers! What a good surprise to come home to.

Today we taught our last lessons in our classes at church. I love my Sunday School class so I prepared a fun lesson with lots of treats for Easter. You can see my cute easter basket cupcakes that some of the kids are holding I liked teaching Sunday School to the 12-13 year old a lot more than I thought I would. I'll miss it.

We are moving in just 4 days! We're packing up all week and taking off on Thursday for St.George for the weekend. All the Conner kids will be in St. George this weekend plus Lucy so we are really looking forward to that. AND Chris' bro and grandparents live there so we know its gonna be a good time. Then the beginning of next week we will finish our trip down to Arizona. We are looking forward to all the new experiences we are going to have and making a new place our home for now!

24

On March 20th I turned 24! It was a fantastic day and we did everything i wanted...which I love! Chris woke me up early (SO early that my eyes didnt work yet) with breakfast in bed (my fave tradition).
It was a BEAUTIFUL day (best we've had all year) so we decided to go to the ZOO!!! It was so fun because I haven't been there for years. We were noticing how we were the only people there as just a couple without any kids and even though it looked fun to take kids around to see the animals, we decided we would enjoy this time in our life when we can walk around as fast as we want, going wherever we want without finding a stroller ramp and just spending time together. It was awesome!

We went early so we could watch the sharks get fed (for some reason i was as excited as a giddy schoolgirl to see that...) I thought it was funny that there was a girl right up front watching very intently and the back of her hoodie said SHARK GIRL...i have a feeling she comes to every show...

These pengies were the cutest things...the girl was laying her head on his shoulder the whole time.

Husband's favorite animale is the Polar Bear

Elephante is SMILING!

Birthday night my Mom hosted a birthday dinner for the fam! It was superb and the table was set so cute!

Scottee graced us with his presence. Isn't Mom looking skinny and hot!!!?

Opening presents! As I am getting older I am loving how gifts actually mean so much to me. And not just the 'getting stuff' but appreciating the thought behind it and knowing someone went out of their way to make my day special. It meant so much to me everytime i saw a text, facebook, goodies at my door, phone call, cards...everything! Thank you all!

And now for the presentation of....drrrruuuuuuuuuuuuummmmroooooooooollllll...

THE SEVEN LAYER BRONGO DOUGH CREATION OF DELICIOUSNESS!

I loved my cake made of all my favorite desserts.

7 layers (from bottom): Brownie, raw cookie dough, congo bar, raw cookie dough, brownie, frosting and candy bar chunks (reeses, snick, and twix!)
YUMMY!

sweet

i. love. baking. because. i. love. eating. sweets.
lately i have been making ALL the family birthday cakes. and its been fun!

Moms 50th - chocolate- my first made from scratch!

Kailey's 16th - She wanted a palm tree (weirdie)...rainbow chip!

Chris' 25th - White two layer w/ strawbs and cream cheese frost

So i decided to make my own cake this year. and i have planned the ULTIMATE.
its going to be a conglomerate of all my favorite desserts. and it will be amazing!
my mouth is watering right now. these may not look so pretty but the taste is what matter. stay tuned to see it.
Maybe its because i have been eating healthy that i am dreaming about desserts lately. hmm. quotes to live by...

"Nothing is better than a perfect fitting pair of jeans EXCEPT eating so much chocolate that you can't fit into them" - my motto (should i be embarrassed that i am quoting myself?)

"Everytime i say the word diet i wash my mouth out with chocolate" - sign in my kitchen

"Life is short...eat dessert first" - another sign in my kitch (i have an addiction)

Livin a little

I don't know what it is but I get a little (actually a lot) antsy staying in one place for too long. I thought that I HATED change but turns out that I actually crave it...go figure. I mean since I turned 18 i have lived in AT LEAST 11 different apartments in 4 different states (that's where i lost count). I moved pretty much every new semester in college so i am just used to it.

Chris has lived in a ton of different places too! Growing up he has lived in Oregon, Washington, Phillipines, Hawaii, California, and Texas...and Peru for two years of course! So what I am getting at is that we're used to change. Soooo....surprise surprise...

We have decided to move!!! And we're really excited about it! We have our list of reasons of why we want to move but really it comes down to the fact that we want to go out to somewhere new and see what life experiences we can have.

We thought that Washington was the perfect choice to settle in because both of our families are based here but recently we have been feeling like we are trying to settle too early. We DO want to live by our families when we have our own family and we DO want our kids to have stability so that is what we have to look forward to in the future. But for now... we are going to live a little.

We have been bouncing ideas around of different cities (in the western U.S.- we don't want to get too crazy) and we are pretty sure we know where we want to go. We gave ourselves a deadline and wherever we have good job leads is where we will go for sure. The deadline is the end of this week so we'll keep you updated. I am so excited to go somewhere new, have new experiences, meet new people, and visit new places. (secretly I am most excited about decorating a new place!) The great part is that once we get there if we don't like it...we can move to our second choice spot. I think that a lot of people might think...you can't move that easily, it costs a lot, there are too many factors to look into. But I am feeling like we have broken through that and we just plan to "make it happen!" This might be the only time in our lives that we can live like this so why not, right?
Maybe this motivation is because we are in the process of making our "BURIED LIFE" list. (if you haven't seen that show you should check it out).

And did I mention we will be leaving next month...ya...pretty soon. So...thanks for reading my ramblings...

PINK

These pinks trees are EVERYWHERE around here! I love them so much because they are just so sweet. We have some right outside our door and they just make me feel like spring is here! I know it isn't quite here but I am feeling special knowing my birthday is the first day of spring so everyone loves that day! I was just realizing that I have spent probably the past 5 Marches in Idaho because I was going to school. This is the first time in 5 years I am going to get to see spring bloom all around me. I love it! I hope its going to be warm enough that we can have a birthday picnic with BBQ chicken, the boys playing football, and the girls laying out on a blanket under the sun munching on fruit, and Houshie running around chasing butterflies...ok the butterflies thing might be a stretch but I am crossing my fingers for that image to come true!
