Nothing Better

Family is the single most important thing in life. I happen to have the greatest family in the world. My immediate family has really come together in the past 10 years to become one group of the best of friends and my pillar of strength. My husband and the family we plan on raising is going to be my life that I dedicate everything I have to. I have a great loving and close-knit family of in-laws that I have been blessed with to make my own. And the extended family I have from my Mom's side, Dad's side, and Husband's side are all just amazing people that I feel honored to be related to. I am in awe of every single one of them.

This past weekend we have the privilege of attending the Conner Family Reunion 2010! Talk about an awesome group of people! It is surreal to see all the people that came from my Dad's two parents that I never got to meet. It is always fun going up to St. George to spend time with this family but this year it really hit me how amazing these people are. Every person has their own story, personality, talents, and accomplishments that I love learning about.

We had a great weekend! I have 7 best friends in life. I consider best friends to be the people that you have unconditional love for that feel the same way about you. The people that you can tell anything to and not feel judged. The people you can talk to on the phone with everyday. Or choose to have with you on a desert island. The 7 people happen to be my Dad, Mom, Christie, Kimmie, Scottee, Kailey, and Chris...my family. So to get to be together with 6 of those 7 people is bound to be a memorable experience. Needless to say...we had a great weekend!

We drove up in Mystique (lovin the 40 mpg!) and had a great road trip...until the last couple hours when we found out that you should never drive through the Hoover Dam on a Friday night! But our car was packed with snacks and a great IPOD playlist. We played cheesy word games that somehow brought up the words mucus and marsupial more often than needed and entertained ourselves by making Houshie salsa dance to the music (poor animal).

The reunion included the perfect amount of activities and down 'talk' time. We only got to be in town for 2 nights so we tried to cram everything in. But it was so well organized thanks to one of those amazing people I was talking about up there (thanks Bria!) so we feel it was well worth it. We had the BEST food and some fun activities including:

Swimming/Laying out
Water Volleyball
Shooting
Basketball
Pictures
Dodgeball Game
Pinata
Talent Show
Dance Lessons
Auction

We also spent a lot of time loving on our niece Lucy Juicy and hanging out with my sibs. We got to see Chris' bro Dan who came to play some bball and then Houshie got to spend the whole day with his Uncle. Sunday we went down to the St George temple and walked the grounds. That temple is gorgeous and so white! It became one of my top 5 faves.

I will share some hilights from the trip in pictures but if you want to see more you can view my facebook album HERE. To everyone that was at the reunion...I am sending you a link to see ALL the pics. This Facebook album is mostly my own pictures.

Does life = Jobs and Cars?

I have mentioned numerous times how our little Hayes family craves change often. This week was no exception. Apparantly we REALLY needed it this week.

First... I got a new job! Now I have 2 and 1/2! I am SO incredibly excited about my new nanny job. My other 1 and 1/2 jobs both have me working from home. I think that working from home is a terrific thing to have available to you...if you're a working mother. Since I am not a mother I needed to get out of the house. Well, my house anyway... and into someone elses!

When I decided to get another job I considered all my options and was determined to find a job I would love using my degree. The only problem was that I found that a job I could love only included playing with and taking care of kids instead of getting work done sitting at a desk. I thought I was the type that wanted to build up my pro 'desk' career but my real self told my wannabe self that I was wrong. My future 'career' goal is to be the world's best Mom so starting out in a entry level job would be a waste of my precious time since I would be quitting it before I became the uber-successful CEO.

Soooo after that longer-than-needed explanation I will say that for right now I am going to be working my dream job of taking care of Tatum 6, Parker 3, and newborn baby Jett (still a womb-dweller). It was a great job find, an awesome schedule, and it is also surprisingly the highest paying of all the jobs I was considering!

Now that I will be working away from home AND away from Chris' work we needed to expand our auto family. Which brings us to the introduction of our fresh and sexy new....

Honda Civic!! We named her Mystique!

At the beginning of the week we weren't planning on me getting a new job and we weren't even thinking of getting a new car. But we have found that as we take things as they come and build our life in faith according to our needs we become happier and live fuller lives. I can't believe what we have learned and how much has changed in exactly two months of being in Arizona. It actually makes things more exciting thinking of what could be next!

We know that in our immediate future we are going up to St. George!!! This weekend we are going up for the annual Conner family reunion. We are really looking forward to everything that is planned and to roadtrip up in our new little firecracker that gets 40 MPG!!! Can't wait!

This is proof of how excited Chris is about it...

{haha!}
