A Go Go

Our breakfast needed its own post. The portions are too big to be squished into the Vegas post. Chris is a serious food lover so he was excited to check out some new Vegas restaurants that we hadn't ever embarked on. So Chris has an app on his Iphone Igor that shows you where to eat in any city. Its pretty sweet. So when we arrive to Veg he busts out the app and it points him to his new obsession for the next 24 hours... Hash House A Go Go. He checks out the reviews and website and fell in love immediately with its weird and original dishes but mostly one dish. The fried Chicken and waffles. We vowed to visit the Hash House for breakfast the next day.

So in the AM we prepare ourselves for a vegas morning. Husb is pretty much drooling the entire time sister and I are preparing ourselves to go out. He hadn't stopped talking bout the chi chi and waffs since he stumbled upon the place. I dont really wanna outline what happened the next 2 hours {because its all ridiculous} but an array of obstacles prevented us from finding this stup place. But we had vowed our soulds away so we couldn't give up and go to Wendys...it had to be Hashie.

Long story shorter... we found it!!! Ahhhh...we saw the light! We are checking out the menu and our eyes are wide in amazement. Twisted Farm Food is how its advertised. They were giant portions and inticing descriptions. Chris obvi knew what he was getting. But Kimmie and I couldn't decide so we chose our 2 faves and shared half and half. It took 45 mins to get our food after we ordered. But we finally cut into our jumbo dishes...

{SNICKERS flapjack...so sweet and delish}

{STUFFED one pounder. 2 patties stuffed with avocado, cheese and bacon}

{The famous Fried Chicken and Waffles}

My review: food is good. portions huge. service was awful {we had 3 different waitresses and waited 45 mins for our food}. Different experience... but wont be going back.

Road trippin to LV

We took a mini one night trip up to Vegas and it was fantast! Colder than expected but seriously superb. We met Kimmie up in sin city and the three of us tore up the city! And by 'tore up the city' I mean we went to a wedding reception and then did all the clean, wholesome and mormon-friendly things you can do on the strip. Because we're crazy like that.

As I previously mentioned, my cousin Emily got married and had a Vegas reception this weekend. It was SO great to see our fun Aunt Kailyn & Uncle Dave and sweet lovie newlyweds Emily and Mike! I already love weddings because I like feelin fancy. But add cute decorations, delish food and fun peeps and I could go all night. Chris was in heaven because he liked EVERYTHING on the food table. We figure he made about 12 trips from our table to the food. Kimmie and I were in heaven because we love our Davies family and our new cousin and his family were awesome too! Thanks for getting married guys. Love ya!

{Wish I got a pic of the rest of her dress. Gorge!}

{Our beautiful mother daughter duo}

{Cutest wedding snack idea}

Following the reception we went out on the strip. Did some shopping. Did some walking. Went to New York. Kissed under the Eiffel tower. Dodged all the creepy porn passer outers. Won $0 on some slot machines. Did some eating. Checked out the wax celebrities. Things of that nature. We were high on the energy of the city. Not in the way that all the people around us were high. But it was an A+ evening.

{for some reason our poses make me laugh. i love us}

After crawling out of our heavenly 4 star beds in the morning we went on our journey for breakfast. We didn't know it was gonna be a journey but the place we journeyed for deserves its own post...coming up. Breakfast took up our whole morning. So we stopped at the LV Temple {which was unexpectedly gigantic} and headed home to our Hoosher. Yeehaw! Good times!

Spankins for Harry

Ello Aaaarrrry Potta! Yeah...we went to the midnight showing. Like the cool people do. And it was a 10 on the fun scale of 1-10. Hub and I went with M and B. The funny thing is that Mel and I {the girls of the group} don't really care about Harry. Yeah they are great books and movies but we're not uber-obsessed. But our HUSBANDS are the HardCore Harrys that insisted we go to the first showing possible. Gotta love those guys. So we {the girls} decided to make it a fun experience. So we obvi decided to make shirts with clever wizard sayings {who wouldn't?}...and load up on snacks...and get hyped on energy drinks. That's our recipe for a good time.

We ended up not having time to complete our detailed shirts with our original brilliant plan. So we hot glued those words on....accidentally smudged the paint a lil while putting them on...and took off for the IMAX asap. I still think they were awesome. And we had a great time going through all the silly sayings. Here's what we decided on- MB: Kiss Me I'm a Muggle. B: Pimp my Broom. C: Only here for the Butter Beer. MH: Spank me with your Wand {I know...I would}.We felt really luck that we weren't those among the hardcore fans that waited for hours to get a good seat. We just walked in 15 mins before the move and got great seats. 2 right in front of the other 2.

High point: We literally got like a giant beach bag and filled it with candy, drinks, white cheddar popcorn {my must have}, PB M&Ms and DOS flannel blankets. You know how you're not supposed to bring outside food into the theatre? Well...we just hoped this wasn't the "tonight we're checking bags just to be strict" night. But Mel just walked right in with this GIANT stuffed bag. And the sight cracked me up. You would've thought we were about to have a picnic in that movie theatre.

Low point: Whilst shopping for t-shirt making supplies we found...ready for this?.... Glow in the dark neon puff paint! And we had big plans for those suckers. We were gonna have a giant lightning bolt that would glow along with the words on the front...just glorious. Well it just straight up didn't shed a single glow ray. Rude.

But Harry night was a good time. The movie was good and we were happy. At least I think the movie was good. I fell asleep for at least 20 mins on Chris' shoulder. I really can't be expected to stay up til 3 am. This mama bear needs her 8 hours if ya know what I'm sayin. So I took a yittle nap and then got my second wind and was awake for the rest. Gotta see my Ron Weasley.

Disclaimer: I went over the Boudy's straight from working for 9 hours with 3 kids and I didn't even blow dry my hair that mornin so I am lookin TOW UP!
2nd Disclaimer: My camera is at the Nikon factory for repair so my upcoming adventures will all have stinky phone pics. Thanks for this cool pic Mel!

Caught green handed!

Apparently the 'stinky-and-sometimes-cute-but-often-irritating-poop-faced' Hoosher wanted to get into the holiday spirit. During my crafting I painted the 'Christmas Kisses' wooden sign green and then got up to get some hot glue sticks. In the 47 seconds that I was gone... Hooshie decided to step his petite paw into my paint blob that I had on a Pier 1 catalog on the floor and then run across the living room. And you better believe he left behind a trail of green paw prints...on the carpet!!! Grrrrrrrr. {we are not getting our deposit back} And you also better believe he hid once I saw it. But I obvi just followed the green carpet blobs to find the lil chunk. He was caught GREEN HANDED! Then given a nice scrub in the bath as punishment.

House Frosting

I've been deathly ill {ok I had a mild flu} almost all boring week long. So I have been sitting at home all alone {ok with the poosh} staring at our enticing red living room wall and thinking about beginning the unbelievable splendor that is Christmas decorating. After the first two days of being out of commission due to "head aching throat closing snot clotting" problems I was able to get up out of mi bed and get some "stay at home wife" stuff done. So I did like 10 loads of laundry {note to self: I have a funny story about that}, squeaky cleaned the house, made husb a gourmet dinner {ok it was a chicken and veggies thrown in the crock-p} and organized the spare room. So that took like half a day and then I was back to thinking about decorating for Christmas.

Usually I believe everyone should wait until the day after Thanksgiving to give the Turkey some spotlight time. BUT we will be out of town at that time. And really we won't even be at home to enjoy our decorations on Christmas eve or day or day after. So I feel its required nay imperative to decor early. So I committed the beginning of Thanksgiving week before we leave to start the cheer. And I decided to use my "bum" time at home to attempt to make some Christmas crafts.

Remember when I made THIS? Well, I l♥ved it so much that I designed my own Christmas version.

And I am uhhhb-sessed. Is it wrong to be obsessed with your own creation? I don't care...it took forever and its worth it. I just love having something merry and eye catching greet me every time I get home. Jolly-o!

I also wanted to make something to carry over traddies from when I was growing up. So I made the Christmas Kiss Countdown!!!!!! One of my fave parts of Christmas as a wee lady. I tried to upload a photo but since my camera is at the Nikon Repair Factory...I can't. Maybe at a later date!

Shout out to ya'll

I just want to express my extreme delight for all the wonderful things that are happening to peeps I love. There are always big events going on all around but right now it seems like there is so much to celebrate on top of all the holidays. Which I am all for because celebrate is my middle name {not really...its Michelle}. So I'd like to shout out to...

Dad and Lisa - My Padre found his LOML {love of my life...well..his life}. We knew the day would come and it finally has! He found his perfect match in Lisa and they decided to elope on 10-10-10. The whole Conner fam is so happy to have Lisa and her kids in the family! We get to celebrate at a reception when we're up in Saint Geezy for Thanksgiving.

Mckae- My Twin BFF and her husband Nate have a bun in their oven!!! And I am obvi so excited for them to start their cute family. Mckae and I spent our 21st Bdays together, flew to participate in each other's weddings, dyed our hair brown together and graduated college together and so I HATE not getting to be there to participate in exciting baby things! Although I'm sure Nate and the Stiles are relieved I won't be there on delivery day trying to be the first to hold the baby....hahaha!

{King Wedding '09}

Emily- My cute cousin Emily has found her lobster {Friends fans will understand}! They are getting sealed for eternity TOMORROW! When Hub and I were getting married Emily was there helping with everything while we were in our love bubble...including spending our wedding giftcards after the wedding! I want to be on our way to Portland right now but since we're not... we will settle for attending their Vegas reception next weekend.

Felix- a.k.a. Chanix a.k.a Felixing a.k.a Glen- One of my college BFFs is engaged to wed next year! Fee and I have been good friends since one of my first semesters in college. We have so many good memories but haven't seen each other in a while. So I am just so happy that he has found a beautiful girl to settle down with and he gets to be a stepdaddy! Next time we're in OR we'll be doing some doub dating!

{this pic was from when we were like 18! why don't we have more recent pics?}

H.O.O.S.H

Housh turned 1 year old last weekend! For his birthday I decided to change the spelling of his name. I don't feel bad... since he's a dog. I am just getting annoyed every time I look at his name written and I hear House-shhhh. So it is now HOOSH...pronounced HOOOOOOOOOSSSHHHHHH!

I feel totally justified in doing this since Chris named him after a football player {T.J. Houshmandzadeh} who played for the Seahawks because he is a diehard fan of Seahawks, Mariners, Zombie Sonics {aka OKC Thunder}...basically anything Seattle. And as of this year Houshmandzadeh no longer plays for the Seahawks and now plays for the Ravens. Still a bird but not a Hawk of any kind. You're welcome for that football lesson. And since we only spelled his name weird for that one reason I decided that I am now allowed to change the spelling. Whew...glad I got that off my chest. So...Hoosh it is.

Also for Hooshie's {that feels so much better} birthday we bought him a smoking jacket for the holidays. Hahahahaha funniest thing eva...lil bow tie and everything!! And I put a doggie treat inside of my super special birthday wine glass and watched him try to get it out of there for about 20 mins. Like I said...cheap entertainment. We're such good doggie parents.

Pick-chas!

Husband and I had the supreme opportunity to get fam pick-chaaas taken by some great girls, Jackie and Yadira! We needed some new Hayes family pictures since we are coming up on our 2 year annie and still only have engagement and wedding photos all over the place. We l♥ved getting our picture taken a little too much and basked in the joy of getting posed all throughout Old Town Scottsdale. We haven't seen all of the edited pics yet but I'm so excited to decorate and get canvases made and design our Christmas card and just sit and stare at our new photos all day long!!! I love them all but here is a preview of some of my faves so far...

hall.o.weenie weekend!

We had a grrrreat Halloween this year. Thank good since last year we were la-haaame and didn't do anything. So this was really our first year to dress up and actually CELEBRATE together.

We obvi hung out with the Boudy's all weekend. Friday we hit up the Halloween trunk-or-treat in their neighborhood. Good times. They had the cutest costumes and Mel MADE all of them. And it was the first thing she ever made with her new sewing machine....I mean c'mon...she's awesome.

Meet the Flintstones.................................. And the Joes...

Good times Good times!

Saturday we hit up our Halloween party! It was a new-fashioned BLAST! Lots of chili, cupcakes, cotton candy, and every other form of candy have put us in a sugar coma. The beehive trunk we planned to match Houshie's Bee costume was a bust but we loved seeing all the cute kids 'treating' around.

By actual Halloween on Sunday we were all partied out. We went over to the Boudy's to relax, pass out candy and watch a scary movie. Well we did relax and hand out sweets to all the neighborhood kiddies. & we watched The Pelican Brief. NOT a scary movie but I have always wanted to see it so....CHECK! Now on to November! Can't wait for all our trips!

Sweet 'stume, man!

Who are we supposed to be?!?!

Can't you tell by Chris' humongo Vans snow boots and intimidating stare that he is THE G.I. JOOOOOOOOOOE?!?! Priced at $12.99.

And can't you tell by my ratted out wig {that's how my barbies always looked}, plasticky smile and the Sassy but deadly five inch heels that I'm THE 'Collectors Edition' Barbie!?!? Priced at $99.99! ......I said I'm a collector's item!

What the picture doesn't show about Chris' costume is that it's like a puzzle. Each piece had to connect to something else to make the whole thing work. There is no top button on the pants so I got him a utility belt {a.k.a fanny pack! hahaha..fanny pack} to keep his pants up and hide the missing button. And then the pants were waaaay too short. Like... is it supposed to rain in here because I see a FLOOD coming. {remember that stupid line?} Hahahaha! So we HAD to find some boots that could keep the pants tucked in...and look G.I. legit. It took me about 3 days to find those mugs. And when the Goodwill cashier was ringing me up she just started chuckling. Then she handed me my bags and told me she was laughing because the boots were so huge and thick that each one needed its own bag! Then I shared in the moment and started laughing and thought it was funny the whole way home. I appreciate cheap humor.

What the picture doesn't show about my costume is the great deal of pain it cost me all night for 2 nights. The wig......arrrrgggg the wig. Cut off the blood flow to my brain causing me to not be able to think clearly enough to take it off! And the heels...ahhhh the heels. I usually pride myself in being able to walk in 5 inch heels for a day without pain. But since I was helping with running the party and running all over the place to get it set up....they blisted up my feet bad enough to compromise the Barbie power and put flats on.

What you DO see about Houshie's costume is that he is an adorable bumble bee and he absolutely HATED the thing. He pouted and naughtied all night. He is supposed to be wearing a hat with two little yellow puff ball antenna on it but he would shake it off as soon as we got it on. Party pooper. So him and Boudy the hot dog {!} stayed in the car most of the night like tired old men.

The AMAZING thing is that we had so much fun that we didn't notice any of these unfortunate side effects until we were home at the end of the night! Successful 'stumes Hayes. Next year...I think we'll be something evil...orrr the Incredibles.
