Our New Tradi!!

We love us some Christmas time. And we love us some tradi's. One of the beauties of marriage is getting to start new traditions just for us and our little fam of two peeps and a dog. This year we started one of the best yet. We decided every year we will choose our 10 favorite Christmas movies and we'll watch all of them throughout the month of December along with a different festive drink of sorts. Made with love in the Cocoamotion. Recharges the holiday spirit in our house every few days.

I'll let ya in on the little secret that is our Christmas movie/drink plan for this Decemb...

Mr. Krueger's Christmas - Hot Chocolate
The Preacher's Wife - Christmas Diet Coke {ha!}
The Santa Clause - Peanut Butter Cup Hot Cocoa
It's a Wonderful Life - Hot Apple Cider
A Christmas Story - Egg Nog
Home Alone - Frozen Hot Chocolate
Scrooge - Spiced Caramel Cider
Jingle all the Way - Hot White Chocolate
Elf - Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate
The Grinch - Mint Chocolate Chip Milkshakes

And the crows for the win!

So we totally scored a date with the two cutest little sweet faced, always wanna be held, nute-nack-poppin baby girls. Nute nacks are Fruit Snacks for those not trained in Lucy speech. We planned this Nieces date and were just dying for it alllllll weeeek looooooooooooong. So, last sat-day fun-day Chris & I took little Lydia and Lucy to the Phoenix Zoo. loved it.

Kicked it off feeding the giraffes. Lucy was a champ. With how much she talked about only wanting to see the "yittle animals" all week we were surprised that she fed that long neck no prob. They were kind of overstimulated and didn't show nearly as much emotion at each animal as Chris and I did. "Ohhhhhhh myyyyy gooooooshhh...look at the Cheetah...he's for reeeeeeal". That's me. This is Lucy. *nod yes*.

Favorite animales of the day. Baboons, goats, elephants, and flamingos.  But...BUT...the win goes to the plain ol' crow that came down from the sky to grab a nute nack that Lyddie dropped while we were waiting to feed the Giraffes. thrilling...that crow.

We love our little ninis. And we count that date as a success. A full day with a 1 year old and a 3 year old and no meltdowns. money. Afterwards we took the little tykes to Targ to pick out ornaments to remember our date. So romantic. The girls each chose their favorite animal ornament. Luce got a pink elephant and Lyd chose the pink monkey. Memory locked.

Another great one. period.

We got to spend Thanksgiving weekend in our favorite St. George. Had a brilliant Thanks feast with some of our favorite Conners & Southwicks. Chris & Dad played in the turkey bowl. Went Black Friday shopping at Target & Best Buy even though we swore that we weren't doing it this year. Black Friday fever is a real illness. Saw two movies 1. Perks of Being a Wallflower and 2. Red Dawn. Did some more shopping with my best sisters. Met Dr. Seuss and Einstein {the turtles}. S'mores and Chili around the fire pit. Birthday party for Tyler with some awesome party games. Sweet Cream Pancakes breakfast with our Hayes fam. Lots of eating. Lots of laughing. Good weekend all around.

& basically the whole story can be told through my instagram...

A Day Date.

 Chris planned a surprise day date for himself & his boo. Me. A rare and very welcomed occasion to take a Saturday to do something out of the ordinary. Loved it. He wouldn't tell me where we were going until we actually got there. Our tooshies showed up in the hills of Jerome, AZ. Ahhhh Jerome. A tourist ghost town. Non-arguably haunted. The biggest ghost town I've ever seen. And the most vertical city in America. A beautiful place. A terrifying vertical drive up the hills. And just rich with history of copper miners and what not. Now, I am not usually one for history. Good historical stories are lost on me. BUT ghost towns are awesome. And eerie. And you just gotta wonder what kinds of things happened in that place. Especially when you walk by the original ol' brothel {House of Joy. ew} that has been turned into a shop of weird creepy things for tourists. And you eat at the Haunted Hamburger. A real haunted house that serves DE-LISH Hambs and steak fries. And you stand over the mine shaft where tons of people died. And you share it with your husb who thinks it's all just the coolest thing ever. Giddy with delight. oh. Just so cool. AND we found a Maverik gas station on the way back. Double points.

{the Hotel Connor. Belongs to me}

This is what I look like as a flesh eating bone crunching zombie. Ironically, this is also what I look like when I don't want to work at work.

I'm preparing for all of the possibilities on 12/21/12. This is what I could be looking at in the mirror. Preparation. And curiosity.

Ohhh so many hind legs.

{Hahahaha! top left and bottom right. hahaha. rad.}

These are the back legs of a one yittle Mr. Hooshington. We find these legs in a creative cross at least one time on the daily. Usually when he's laying on the chevron rug trying to camouflage the situation. We always get a chuckle out of it and snap a picture before he gets embarrassed. Then we send them to each other when we're at our respective workplaces the next day. I always hope Chris will get it when he is in a meeting maybe mid-sip of a Red he might cough-laugh and it will make a big commotion and he will have to show everyone what the big deal was. " was just the way our dog crosses his back legs when he's laying down". Hahahaha. Stupidly perfect. One day...

The long necks

It seems that every time I get around to doing a blog post it's a repeat of the last "awesome" thing we did. It seems that every thing we do is awesome. It seems I can't find any other words. And this is no exception to the awesomeness.

Sometimes we just really need to get away soooo last weekend we took a trip over to California to visit the Hayes'. Hit up the San Diego Zoo. Hit up Slaters 50/50. Hit up some family time. Another awesome {see.} weekend.

Highlight of the Zoo was the Long Necks... a.k.a Giraffes {as some may call them}. What a friendly bunch. They stretched out their necks and rolled out their 12 foot tongues and ate those snappy biscuits right out of our hands. They even left us with sticky giraffe saliva as a souvenir. Really cool. I miss them. Awesome awesome awesome.

my SIL Bethany :)

Hello Halloween

1. An Indian Owl perched on the cloud. normal.
2. Mitt Romney and his binder full of women
3. My little pony & Miss Martini
4. Fitt Romney. Hahaha!
5. Witches legs cupcakes & reeses pieces cookies
6. Our Rufferee & Wide Retriever. Big hits with the kiddos.
7. A butterfly, an Indian Owl & an actual cute owl

My Halloween Day 2012. Decided to grace my workplace with my owl presence for the day. Scooped up third place in the office costume contest with my Indian Owl {which most thought that I was...naturally with my wings and moccasins...because that's a thing}. Hustled home to joined my fellow winged creature nieces for some trick or treating. Lucy was scared of everything and Lydia just wanted to eat the candy as soon as she got it. So pretty much just like their every day life. Loved seeing all of the millions {almost literally} of trick-o-treaters we got at our door. Our 5 bags of candy were gone before 8 pm. Loves it.

I still haven't taken down my Hallow decor. I'm in denial.

We went to another awesome concert. in Phoenix.

Scotty McCreery. The Band Perry. & Brad Paisley.

Love them all.

Wore a denim shirt and almost finished off an entire fatty Chipotle burrito on the way there. I'm impressed with myself for both reasons.

Anyway, Brad puts on an ah-mah-zing show. And he's funny and lovable.

It was a beautiful night & we all got a contact high from the weed smokers surrounding us on the lawn. Headache nation. But another musical memory made.

Thank you Lisa!!!

It started with us staying up til 4 am

So....Chris' Mom, Dad and little sister ventured over to our neck of the woods for a long weekend! We were so happy they made the trip. It was extra special because Bethany just got home from her mission and we missed her so. And it was extra extra special because it was the first time they have ever been to one of our homes. So I had a little bit of 'i want my mother-in-law to like our house' nerves. It turned out to be a pleasant memory making weekend. Just love.

Since they {PaulMichelle&Bethany} drove from Carlsbad and didn't get in until midnight we started the weekend catching up and chatting our heads off {with some football on in the background} until 4 am. FOUR. That's how much we love each other. Set the tone up real nice. & this is what my phone has to say about it...

 1. I think our rousing game of Quelf was the family fun hi light. haha!
2. Chris' office was like an amusement park. Crazy awesome.
3. Sprinkles. the cactus cupcakes and wooden forks. cutest.
4. Hayes girls = shopping. Hayes boys = bored.
5. Send off goodbye breakfast at Joe's Farm Grill.

Ya'll come back now..ya hear?

{We went to a wedding.}
Ahhhh this beautiful life. It's a roller coaster, isn't it? Sometimes you sleep in past 10 and fit into your skinny jeans even after a night of brownie batter blizzards and other times you have to eat your soggy breakfast eggs while crying on the toilet {Both of those have happened to me. why do all my memories involve food?}

I'm in a thoughtful mood. Lots on my mind {that must be why I've had weird dreams lately.} I feel like I want to share my jumbled thoughts but it also feels weird putting them out there so i will pass...this time.

Currently life for us is warm & fuzzy. The past couple of weeks have calmed down a bit. I guess it's the calm before the holiday storm. Right now we are loving our time together. Chris has been so funny lately. Goofy funny and just real funny. He makes me laugh all the time...even when I'm not around him...just the thought of what he said or did the night before. I'm trying to soak up memories because lately I have been feeling like life is going by too fast. Way too fast. Why does that happen when we turn into adults?

Lots of exciting things coming up. We are really looking forward to Chris' parents and sis coming to visit us here in AZ! Lil sis Bethany just got home from a mission to Brazil and we haven't seen that girl in so long. It will be a fun-filled reunion. {!!!!!!!!}

Have a happy hump day.

This week...I may have a bad-itude. But I have an excuse...I am very tired due to the fact that my pup kept me up for 1 1/2 nights with anal gland discomfort {gross but true}. There is nothing better to show how I feel about this week than this video...

Hahaha! How great would that be to swipe your dishes off the table when you're done eating. What's wrong with me....? Come oooooon weekend.

 Last weekend Dad & Lisa flew on down to take us to a Rascal Flatts concert. It was secretly really just because they wanted to be our first house guests in the new house. Can't blame 'em. So we all drove over to Phoenix for the show. We spent the night on the lawn, laying out on blankets, snacking on our $10 popcorn and $5 diet cokes and soaking up the music of Eden's Edge, Eli Young Band and Little Big Town. The weather was so kind to us. Then when {my favorite} Rascal Flatts took the stage everyone was on their feet and singing our hearts out and cutting some rugs. For real...we were into it. Surprisingly my dance move of choice for the night was wide stance air guitar. It felt good. Is there a better country group than the Rascals? Answer is no. Love them. They sing straight to your soul. Alsooo we tweeted a picture of us at the concert and they put it up on the concert big screens. And that's how we became famous.

Thanks-a-mil to Dad & Lisa! You always know how to show us a good time. Can't wait for Brad Paisley and The Band Perry next month! Over & out.

A spot for a student.

Look at that little sour patch kid. So you know when you go to visit your little sister who just moved out for the first time and into her very first college apartment...and it makes you feel like you're still a college student that never left and all you want to do is go to paint parties and stay up all night doing pranks and slamming energy drinks? Yes, I do. But then you just fall asleep because you're old. ew.

Kimmie and I road tripped up to St. George to help that Dixie Stater get some color & chevron in her college apartment life. And now it's adorable. And we miss her.

Before {can someone make me use my real camera next time?}...
